a public declaration of

an inward reality.

Baptism is an act of obedience to God, and an act of testimony to the world.

Life is not for the faint-hearted. There are moments that require a choice – a decision to be what we want to be and live a life where actions follow choice and we do the things we decide to do.

When Jesus was being baptized he said: “…it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” (Matthew 3:15). And when Jesus came out of the water “…a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love, with him I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3:17)

A life given to God is a life lived for God. We choose to be saved and be a follower of God, and we choose to be baptized. It is not an act for parent to do to their children, but the choice of an adult who wishes to do God’s will.
